Build of SA

I The build of a country refers to the physical features of the country, like the coastline, the rivers, the mountains and the shape of the land. In South Africa low land is near the coast. When it is further away from the coast the ground becomes more steep and forms mountains. A coastal plain is a area of flat land next to the sea. An escarpment is steep slope or a long cliff that separates high and low land. A plateau is an area of high land which usually consists of relatively flat terrain. The height of land is measured as metres above sea level.
